Tea ceremony programs

Time : 10:00～16:20 (Reception Hours 9:00~15:30)
At Hama-rikyu Gardens, Tea Ceremony(Indoor), Outdoor Tea Ceremony -“Nodate”, Outdoor Tea Ceremony in English, Outdoor Tea Ceremony by High School Students will be held.
Tea Ceremony (Indoor) requires an advanced reservation.
Reservation period : August 9 (Fri.) to September 9(Mon.)
After the deadline, a lottery will be held to determine the winning reservations.
The lottery results will be sent in late September via e-mail.
Tickets for Outdoor Tea Ceremony -“Nodate”, Outdoor Tea Ceremony in English, and
Outdoor Tea Ceremony by High School Students will be sold on the day of the event.
The participation fee for all tea ceremony programs is 800 yen including tax.

Outdoor tea ceremony can be enjoyed with English explanations.

Tea Ceremony (Indoor)
The tea ceremony will be held indoors. Beginners are welcome to join easily.
In some ceremonies at the Hobai-tei, a Japanese sign language interpreter will be available.
*Please note that Japanese sign language interpretation for tea ceremony (Indoor) requires prior reservation on this official website at the time of reservation.

Outdoor Tea Ceremony-“Nodate”
This tea ceremony is to be held in outdoors and those with no prior experience are encouraged to freely participate. Some ceremonies will have Japanese sign language interpreters.

About participation fee
Payment can be made on the day of the event through cashless methods such as transportation IC cards, nanaco, Rakuten Edy, QUICPay, iD, or by cash. Credit cards are not accepted.

- The ownership of photos, videos, and records taken during the event belongs to the organizers, and they may be published in magazines, websites, blogs, etc. Please be aware of this.
- A list of the potential allergens information for the sweets is on this website under 'Allergens' page. For those with food allergies, please check the list before participating.
- Please refrain from participating if you are experiencing symptoms such as fever or any other signs of ill health.
- Indoor venues will be ventilated regularly.
- The event will be changed or cancelled due to various circumstances such as weather.
